General
1.1 Scope This specification applies to Rocker Switches used for electronic equipment.
1.2 Operating temperature range
1.3 Test conditions Unless otherwise specified, the atmospheric conditions for making measurements and tests are as follows.
1.3.1 Ambient temperature; 1.3.2 Relative humidity: 45-85%
1.3.3 Air pressure: 86-106 kPa (860-1060 mbar)
1.4 Should any doubt arise in judgment, tests shall be conducted at the following conditions.
1.4.1 Ambient temperature: 20±2℃ 1.4.2 Relative humidity: 60-70%
1.4.3 Air pressure: 86-106 kPa (860-1060 mbar)
Appearance, construction, and dimensions
2.1 Appearance: The switch shall have no rust, cracks, or plating failures.
2.2 Construction and dimensions: Refer to the individual product drawing.

Electrical specifications

Items Test conditions Criteria

4.1 Contact resistance Shall be measured at 0.1A, 6~8V DC by voltage drop method after some operations without load. Applied position: Between terminal and terminal (Between contact terminals) 30 mΩ MAX

4.2 Insulation resistance Test voltage: 500 V DC, measured after 1min±5s Applied position: Between terminal and terminal (Between non-contact terminals) 100 MΩ MIN

4.3 Voltage proof The following test voltages shall be applied for 1min (Cut-off current: 10mA)

Between terminal and terminal: 1500V AC (50~60Hz)

Between terminal and shell: 3000VAC No dielectric breakdown shall occur.

Mechanical specifications

5.1 Operating features 5.1.1 Operating force A static load shall be applied to the tip of the button in the positive operating direction. 4-6N
5.1.2 Operating travel The travel distance for the button from side to side shall be measured in mm.

5.3 Vibration The switch shall be mounted on a testing machine for testing. Parameters of the test are as follows:
(1) Vibration frequency range: 10-55 Hz
(2) Total amplitude: 1.5mm
(3) Sweep cycle: 10-55-10 Hz
(4) Method of changing the sweep vibration frequency: Logarithmic or linear.
(5) Direction of vibration: Three perpendicular directions including actuator.
(6) Duration: 2 h each (6 h in total) Contact resistance (Item 4.1): 50 mΩ MAX Insulation resistance (Item 4.2): 100 MΩ MIN Voltage proof (Item 4.3): No dielectric breakdown shall occur. Operating force (Item 5.1): Within specified value. Shall be free from mechanical abnormalities.

5.4 Shocks The switch shall be measured after the following test at the condition of releasing self-lock.
(1) Mounting method: Normal mounting method
(2) Acceleration: 30g
(3) Duration: 11ms
(4) Test direction: 6 directions
(5) Number of shocks: 3 times per direction (18 times in total)

Contact resistance (Item 4.1): 50 mΩ MAX Insulation resistance (Item4.2): 100 MΩ MIN Voltage proof (Item 4.3): No dielectric breakdown shall occur. Operating force (Item 5.1): Within specified value. Shall be free from mechanical abnormalities.

5.5 Mechanical life The switch shall be mounted on a testing machine for testing. Parameters of the test are as follows:
Operation Rate: 30 cycles/min Total number of Operations: 10,000 cycles Contact resistance (Item4.1): 100 mΩ MAX Insulation resistance (Item4.2): 100MΩ MIN Voltage proof: 500VAC No dielectric breakdown shall occur. Operating force (Item5.1): Within +10, -30% of the specified value. Temperature rise: ≤ 30℃. No abnormalities shall be recognized in appearance and construction.

Environmental test

Item Test conditions Criteria

6.1 Low temperature After testing at –25±2℃ for 48 h, the switch shall be allowed to stand under normal room temperature and humidity condition for 1h, and then measurement shall be made within 1 h. Water drops shall be removed. Contact resistance (Item4.1): 100 mΩ MAX Insulation resistance (Item4.2): 100 MΩ MIN Voltage proof (Item4.3): No dielectric breakdown shall occur. Operating force (Item5.1): Within specified value. No abnormalities shall be recognized in appearance and construction.

6.2 High temperature After testing at 85±2℃ for 48 h, the switch shall be allowed to stand under normal room temperature and humidity condition for 1 h, and then measurement shall be made within 1 h. Water drops shall be removed.

6.3 Damp heat, steady state After testing at 40±2℃ and 90-95% RH for 96h, the switch shall be allowed to stand under normal room temperature and humidity condition for 1h, and then measurement shall be made within 1h. Water drops shall be removed.

6.4 Salt mist The switch shall be checked after the following test.
(1) Temperature: 35±2℃
(2) Salt proportion: 5±1% (solids by mass)
(3) Duration: 24±1h
After the test, salt deposit shall be removed with running water. No remarkable corrosion shall be recognized on metal parts.

6.5 Change of temperature After 5 cycles of the following conditions, the switch shall be allowed to stand under normal room temperature and humidity condition for 1h, and then measurement shall be made within 1h after that. Water drops shall be removed.
85±2℃ → Normal room temperature → -25±3℃
30min → 5min → 1 cycle
Contact resistance (Item4.1): 100 mΩ MAX Insulation resistance (Item4.2): 100 MΩ MIN Voltage proof (Item4.3): No dielectric breakdown shall occur. Operating force (Item5.1): Within specified value. No abnormalities shall be recognized in appearance and construction.
