What is a DPDT switch?
“Double pole” means two independent common circuits are controlled. “Double throw” means each pole can connect to one of two outputs. Both poles move together under one actuator.
DPDT contact logic is used when two paths must change state at the same time. Reversing and polarity-changing circuits are common examples, but the complete system must provide appropriate protection and interlocking.
